As editor and publisher of TalkDallas, I rarely have time to think about the difference between a blog and articles because the lines have blurred on many of the larger news sites. For the record, the blog is about what you think and "may be" based in reality on facts and articles are "supposed to be" based in reality on facts to support the writing.
