Supermodel Jourdan Dunn, face of Gap, veteran of US Vogue, and most talked-about model of spring/summer 2008 Fashion Week (in which she walked in an incredible 75 shows including Louis Vuitton and Valentino) has something she'd like to put straight. 'Everybody says I was spotted shopping in Primark. I wasn't shopping. I was with my friend: she wanted to go in, I wanted to go home - and we were just mucking about in the sunglasses section.'

Britain is in love with huge 'American-style' fridges. But just because you have the room doesn't mean you should pack it with food.

Twenty years ago, we didn't really think about fridges. They were usually small and cupboard-like. They smelled a bit. They had a "freezer compartment" - often a solid berg of frost into which was set a broken ice-tray and a rogue oven chip - and they made that reassuring "thunkety humm" noise at odd intervals throughout the night.
